Ildaura Murillo Rohde was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, on September 13, 1965. She is the daughter of Sonia and Enrique Murillo. Ildaura has three brothers: Enrique, Joel, and Javier.
Ildaura attended high school at Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola in Aguadilla. She then went on to study at the University of Puerto Rico, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education. After working as a teacher for several years, Ildaura pursued a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Nova Southeastern University.
Throughout her career, Ildaura has been an advocate for education reform in Puerto Rico. In 2000, she founded the Center for Educational Innovation, which works to improve the quality of education on the island. Ildaura has also served on the boards of several education organizations, including the Puerto Rico Association of Teachers and the Puerto Rico Department of Education’s Committee on Educational Technology.
